If you adjust the BPM for the project, you have to time stretch the clips if you want to retain their original playing. If the above is true, any changes to the project BPM will affect all of the tracks in playback. You also want to display the correct BPM for the project You want to arrange the music so it all lines up on the time line. MIDI clips begin and end not on downbeats or measures and the same for audio clips.Ĥ. When you look at the timeline/measures at the top of the screen, they do not line up with music you played i.e. You "free styled" all the playing so it just worked in the end. You recorded tracks in mixcraft without setting the time signature or BPM at the beginningĢ. It's a little hard for me to understand so I'll try and list what I think you are talking about:ġ. I've also tried the Ctrl+W trick of mixing to a new track. Adjusting tempo doesn't seem to change that. I'm looking for a way to almost tug on the grid behind the bars and bring those back. The above chords should be exactly 2 measures each, but they're like 1 and 3/4. I think a better way for me to put it - all my audio tracks and instruments sound good, but when I look at the project timeline, the measures are all off. It looks like selecting all and adjusting project tempo is only moving the 'Audio tracks' in my project, but does not impact the virtual instruments. Next, have a good look through this video on quantization – very informative.Īnd also remember that you can quantize notes ‘on the way in’ when recording a virtual instrument track by hitting the down arrow next to the arm track button. But be careful any drum MIDI should not be included with a key change as it will rearrange notes and you could end up with all the kicks playing hi hats etc. On that same sound tab you can also select Use Project Key. This won’t work if you have tempo change markers in your timeline though. You can then change the main tempo of a song and the notes will follow. ![]() ![]() First, a great way to alter the tempo of a song would simply be to select ALL clips (Ctrl A), then go to the sound tab and select Use Project Tempo.
